Don't Pick Petty Plastics

35 billion plastic water bottles are thrown away each year in America contributing to plastic pollution. Plastic can take years to break down and this is rough on the planet. But there is a way to help by using alternatives such as water bottles and reusable canvas shopping bags.
Plastic bottles are one of the most used plastic products to be thrown away. This hurts the planet and your wallet, but if one reusable water bottle is bought, then that alone can be refilled over and over again, reducing the amount of waste that plastic water bottles cause.
Instead of bringing food to lunch in a ziploc bag, get reusable tupperware. These containers can be used used, washed, and then used again.
500 billion bags are used worldwide every year and these are not the most reusable product; however, canvas bags are reusable. Purchase a few canvas shopping bags that can be used many times when shopping. Just make sure to bring them.
When buying art supplies try not to buy supplies in plastic containers. Try to buy the supplies in cardboard boxes then recycle the container when empty. Do not just throw the container in the trash. The cardboard is easier for the earth to break down compared to plastic that can take longer than a lifetime to break down.
When throwing away trash, plastic is wasted just by tossing the bag. Switching over to a compostable bag, such as bio bags, is a great choice. These bags can be broken up easily by the earth without taking years to do so.
