The UT game this Saturday, September 10, will be the largest football game ever attended. Period. The Vols were given 40,000 of 150,000 available tickets, which sold out in two days. A few lucky CHS students will be among the attendants.
Bristol Motor Speedway will host this historic athletic event. Kickoff is set for 8 PM. Both of these teams enter the contest with a record of 1-0. This game will be classified as a home game for the vols, even though it will take place in Bristol. Although the hype around this game is tremendous, many business owners aren’t too happy at the fact that they will be losing out on profit they would normally make during a actual home game.
Zach Ellis, CHS junior and baseball player, will be attending the game this saturday. He has high hopes for the Vols. He predicts they beat Virginia Tech by 6 touchdowns! When asked why he was attending the game he replied, “Just going so me and my girl can have a good time.” Zach doesn’t go to every game, but he goes to a couple of games a year. Zach acquired the tickets himself. He bought two tickets, one for him and one for his girlfriend.
